Capybara planking.
According to Wikipedia, "Planking" (or the "Lying Down Game") is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the Internet is an integral part of the game. Here we have an example of planking with kapibarasan. I haven't heard of a game like this before, cool photo though.

Capylife underwater
Today I found some videos with swimming capybaras. The channel is called capylife. Capybaras relax in big pool with very clean water and few fish. You can see them staying in vertical position for a while and then they dive and stay under water for some time. I recommend viewing more vids from this yt channel / ^ t^)

Capy-film from Vienna Zoo
I made this film with my cell phone while visiting Vienna zoo. It shows a capybara lying in its hut and eating some grass. Capy wakes up and then has problems with one of its leg, I think it could be because of bad position while resting. Or maybe it was an old capybara with some health problems? The film shows where capybara lives in this zoo, you can see 2 more capybaras from a distance on the left. You can also hear me speaking polish - I'm making a comment on the situation. Pretty bad quality but I think real capybara fans can still watch it :>

Capybara tour: Vienna
Capybara lives in "The South America Park" (part of the zoo) with Tapir, Nandu, Vicuna and Great anteater. It was very funny to hear German speaking people who didn't know what capybara/Wasserschwein is - they called it 'riesen Meersau' which means 'huge sea sow' (just like Meerschweinchen = Guinea pig = 'sea piggy') ;-) I'm still laughing.
The animals have separate 'rooms' in a special hut where visitors can come and observe them.
When we arrived, it was meal time for Capybara.
After finishing the vegetables, some capybaras went a little bit further from their hut to continue eating the grass.
And finally one of them got tired of eating and found some cozy place for relax ;-)
I think they're pretty good at relaxing, aren't they?...
During our walk around the zoo we were leaving and coming back to The South America Park few times hoping for an opportunity to make better shots. Each time we came back we tried hard to find capybara again.
Sadly, there were no capybara pups, and we didn't see swimming capybaras. They have a nice pool with glass so that you can see them in water. Although they weren't the main attraction of this zoo, we were happy to see them there. The weather was not perfect for taking photos too, but at least it stopped raining when we found capybara. I hope to make more trips like that in the future / ^ t^).

Funny film from Nagasaki Bio Park
I'm not sure but at the beginning of this vid there's probably an information on Nagasaki Bio Park. You must see it, I think this shows how much capybara is popular in Japan. At 1:00 we meet first animals and then around 7:00 the guy takes bath in 'capybara-spa' with capybaras of course! They come shortly after him. After taking bath they eat watermelon together. This made my day :D I want to visit Nagasaki Bio Park in the future.

Capybara room game
Capybara Room
Today I tried to find some games connected with capybara, and I found this. I'm still trying to complete the first room (maybe there are more rooms...?) because everything is written in japanease and I can't get any hints. In this game you can find some kapibara-san-like stuff ;-) I recommend it for a short break from work.
PS: You need to click on _very specific_ areas of furniture or other stuff. Don't give up. If you get stuck then you can check these hints in comments. Most of the players do not recognize kapibara-san and they just call it 'a hamster' ;-)

Kapi tower practice
Small capybara pups try to make kapi-tower. They fail in the end but I think if they spend some more time on exercises they will reach perfection ;-)

Hey Kapibara-san!
Kapibara-san (カピバラさん) seems to be quite a recognizable character in Japan. You can see positive reactions of people in the streets here. I wish I would meet the big Kapibara-san next time.
The so-called 'kapi tower'as seen in the video ;-) was not invented by the creators of Kapibara-san - I found some evidence showing that real capybaras sometimes make small kapi-towers. And believe me,this has nothing to do with procreation!

Origami-bara
Today Capybara made from a piece of paper :) The author says that pentagonal shape is good for making animals. It's definitely not for beginners but looks pretty cool. Think I start exercising tomorrow ;-)

Lunchtime for Capybara
If you wonder what does Capybara eat, here's the answer - they eat more than guinea pigs but similar things.
In Japan, they get bamboo grass very often.
They also need food which contains a lot of vitamin C, because lack of this vitamin causes scurvy (people and guinea pigs need it for the same reason). This is why you can often find films or photos with capybara and citrons ---> see previous entry;-)
As you can see, domesticated Capybaras are sometimes allowed to eat popsicles, and they like it very much.
And, what about your lunch today?

Citrus bath
Baby capybaras in citrus bath, swimming with their mother and eating bamboo leaves (I guess). Beautiful video from youtube channel withCapybara.
カピバラ Capybara
This is one of my favourite capybara photos from flickr. It was made by japanease fans. I think he/she got tired of eating grass and decided to take a short nap ;-) the rest of his/her meal is still around his/her nose. What a cute photo!
